How do I assign addresses, either IQ, TCP/IQ, TCP/IP, Subnet Mask, or Cobranet?
For the IQ components, the 20 milliamp product has DIP switches located on the product, or with the front panel controls for the USM-810 family of products. To set the addresses for Cobranet, TCP/IQ, Subnet Mark, or CobraNet those are set using the software. For the IQ Bus Products it can be either IQ for Windows 5.1.1 or IQwic. For the TCP/IQ product it must be IQwic.
Will the new TCP/IQ products work with the 20 mill current loop products?
Yes, however a 20 milliamp gateway is required, or an interface. The way this is accomplished is that the computer would have the legacy product connected via RS-232; TCP/IQ products would be connected to the Network Interface Card (NIC). There will also be a software package very similar to IQ Server required. If one already has Com-Tech 10 Series or Macro-Tech 02 Series amplifiers in an installation and wants to add CTs Series with TCP/IQ to a new wing, the IQ Network has a gateway in place that will consolidate the two different technology platforms so they appear within IQwic as one system. It's completely seamless to the installer or operator.
What is a Mac Address?
This parameter is configured at the factory and is read-only. The setting defines a unique IEEE802-recognized address for use with any Ethernet based network. Each company assigns a Mac address to every Ethernet capable product that they produce. These numbers are assigned to the company by the IEEE.
I have set up a TCP/IP address and a default gateway, but I can not see the products on another VLAN.
The Router must be defined using TCP/IQ Utility; This router is the acutal hardward router that is doing the VLAN. This has to be done for each component, one can shift click or control click to select multiple units.
How do I save a preset in a USM-810?
This can only be done online. The preset is saved in the unit, it is not saved as part of the dataframe. If you want to save 32 presets to files, you would need 32 files. Configure the unit to meet your needs, select the Preset tab, press the store button, within 5 seconds press the button for the preset you want to define, and give the preset a text description.
How do I save a preset on a PIP card?
This can only be done online. The preset is saved in the unit, it is not saved as part of the dataframe. If you want to save 10 presets to files, you would need 10 files. Configure the unit to meet your needs, select the Preset tab, press the store button, within 5 seconds press the button for the preset you want to define, and give the preset a text description.
How do I assign a control to the USM810 control port?
The Multi-Function Control Port provides a means for external monitoring and control of objects within the USM-810. The Control Port has sixteen outputs and sixteen inputs along with power supply outputs and common grounds. There are 8 analog control in, 8 digital control in, and 16 digital control out. The Control Port Page may be accessed by clicking on the Control Port tab in the USM-810 form. Select the pin you would like to use and define it using the edit command. This information is stored in the unit as well as in the dataframe.
How can I lock the front panel of the USM-810?
On the general tab of the USM-810 from there is a button that indicates "Lock Out Front Panel Controls" Engage this button on to make it so that the three buttons on the front panel of your mixer do not control anything. Presets cannot be selected from the front panel of the unit when this feature is engaged. The front panel display will change to begin with an "L."
How do I readdress components?
On occasion, it may be necessary to change the address of one or more components in your IQ System. When a component is readdressed, any changes made follow through all Master Control Panels and Control Page Objects so that any of these items that may have addressed a component being readdressed now refer to the new component address. To readdress components: right-click on any component icon in the Workplace, select Readdress from the popup menu that appears, a dialog appears that contains a listing of all components in the dataframe, select one or more components from this list are to be readdressed, to change the address of selected components select an item from appropriate drop-down combo box and click on the matching Change button to the right. The change will be reflected in the component listing. Note that in order to change individual component addresses you may select only one component at a time. Click on OK or Apply.
What are the differences between IQ-PIP modules?
There are four models of IQ PIP modules currently available. These include the IQ-P.I.P.-MEM, IQ-P.I.P.-SMT, IQ-PIP-USP2, and IQ-PIP-USP2/CN. The IQ-PIP-USP2 is Crown's second-generation DSP IQ PIP and offers the most power and flexibility of all the IQ PIP models, yet it has the lowest cost of all IQ PIPs. Being PIP2 models, the IQ-PIP-USP2 and IQ-PIP-USP2/CN can only be used with PIP2 amplifiers such as the CT "10" Series, the Macro-Tech "02" series, and the Macro-Tech 5000VZ. The other modules may be used with either PIP2 or standard PIP compatible Crown amplifiers. Go here for more info on PIP vs. PIP2. The IQ-PIP-USP2 and IQ-PIP-USP2/CN each use RJ-45 IQ Bus data loop connectors, while the IQ-P.I.P.-MEM and IQ-P.I.P.-SMT each use DIN IQ Bus data loop connectors. The IQ-P.I.P.-MEM, IQ-P.I.P.-SMT, IQ-PIP-USP2 and IQ-PIP-USP2/CN each have an AUX port. The biggest differences between the models from the standpoint of function have to do with the software feature sets. The IQ-P.I.P.-MEM offers the basic feature set. This includes monitoring levels, distortion, and thermal status plus control of power, mute, attenuation, and other fundamental functions common to most of the modules. The IQ-P.I.P.-SMT takes the basic feature set and adds input compression, output limiting, thermally driven compression, auto-standby, and advanced error reporting. These added features are called the Smart Amp feature set. The IQ-PIP-USP2 adds digital signal processing and real-time load supervision to the basic and Smart Amp feature sets. DSP processing includes delay and user configurable filters for each channel. The IQ-PIP-USP2/CN offers the same feature-set as the IQ-PIP-USP2, while adding CobraNet(TM) network compatibility.
How do I store presets in the IQ-USM 810 and IQ-PIP-USP2?
There are two important steps to follow for storing unit settings as a preset within the IQ-USM 810 and IQ-PIP-USP2, and they must be performed in the correct order: First, choose the store function, and then select the preset number desired. You have approximately two seconds to select a preset number once you have chosen to store. The sequence is Store, Preset x (desired preset number). Please refer to the applicable Reference Manual for more information about the preset feature.
I don't know anything about networking. Can I get I-Tech's networking up and running quickly without reading a book or taking a class?
In IQWic version 7, a network wizard is included under the Setup Menu to assist in the process of setting up your network. The software looks at your computer and configures the address of the amplifier to be on the same network. In many cases, this is all that is required to set up your IQ Network.
USM-810 / PS8810 cycles sh1,sh2,sh3,sh4. Can I fix it?
This type of problem need to come back to Crown for Factory service it is not user repairable.
A USM-810 / PS-8810 shows an "E" error code. What is it?
This type of problem ususally has to do with a SHARC processor error of one type or another and will need to come back to Crown for Factory service as it is not user repairable.
