  1. XTi problem - channel 1 doesn't work

Thanks for the response. I ended up taking it to the authorized Crown repair facility just over a week ago. They're relatively close, and I didn't think we'd need the power amp for a few weeks. I was wrong about that, but we managed. I'm sure they'll find the problem. I also asked them to check the output levels. When the amp broke, we used a Fender power mixer to run our monitors that puts out just over half the wattage of the XTi1000. That Fender amp had significantly higher output than the Crown. I don't get it! OOPS, I told you I was just getting use to the forum. Got carried away with the 0, typing not the best. AS far as the Display PWA, That's what the Wizz Kids at Crown told me. I tried the amp this weekend. Push it like I would at a show for two hours. Seems to be working fine. I started uploading new firmware into my other 1000 today using Cloader provided by Tech Support. I got my amp back the 25 Sept. They received it on the 5 Sept. If that helps.
  2. XTi problem - channel 1 doesn't work

Thanks for the reply. I swapped cables around to see if the problem switched to different monitors or if it stayed with channel 1, and I went direct from the board to the power amp to the speakers to make sure I didn't have a problem between the board and the amp. The problem stayed with channel 1. I assume that's what you mean by signal interconnect continuity. As for turning off the DPS, it was set at the factory default, which appears to be "off". I do appreciate your response. I just wish I knew more about the darn amp so I could answer with some degree of intelligence. (edited after I did a little more reasearch.) I'm just getting use to this thing. Now about my XTi 1000. Channel one went out on me, 2 Sept 2007. Sent it back to Crown! They replaced the Display PWA and installed current Firmware and Factory updates. I'm going to try using it on Sat. 29 sept. 2007. The Display PWA is the main board of the amp. I hope it works. I have another 1000, both will be a year old middle of Oct. Also have a XTi 2000. Neither of those have been updated with firmware or factory updates. The repaired amp was used for my monitors, two 8ohm 15" monitors per channel. None of my amps have been pushed hard. No need, since most venues are small to medium in size. So far, no problems with the oother two amps. Crown says they have 50000 XTi's in service with a < 1.5 failure rate. That's still 7500 amps that are having problems. The last thing I need is for one or two amp's to go out uring a show. I did all the things you did when problem showed up.
