System Architect 1.6 Released

The core of HiQnet System Architect is engineered by a central Harman Pro software team. The software architecture enables Harman Pro brands to develop plugins for their products which integrate seamlessly with the core application. System Architect is currently at version 1.6 and uses the Harman HiQnet protocol to configure and control the following products:

Partial Venue File export - export a selection of devices and associated Custom Control Panels within an open Venue file to disk
Venue File import - import a complete existing Venue File into the open configuration including all device configurations and Custom Control Panels
Master Control Panels by channel - feature expanded to enable Master Control Panel creation at device channel level
System Indicator Control enhancements - trigger a hardware contact closure output from configurable conditions met within the system

Crown Annouces Two Software Releases

Crown is pleased to announce the release of two software updates. System Architect has been updated to version 1.4 and IQwic has been updated to 8.21. The updates are listed below. New in System Architect Version 1.40.0:

Support for the Crown CDi 4000 installed sound amplifier

Convert Default Panel to Custom Panel - speed up the process of custom panel creation by starting with the factory-supplied panels and converting them quickly into a panel which can be further tailored to your needs.

Graphical Grouping of Controls - group controls in the integrated Custom Control Panel designer for the purposes of moving and editing them as a single entity.

Advanced Search - sift swiftly through the vast numbers of parameters available to assist with their assignment to controls on a Custom Control Panel.

New custom controls - Dynamics Graph, Rotary Encoder, Advanced Meter.

Event Log button - be proactively alerted to customizable levels of events on the HiQnet network and launch the System Architect Event Log directly from the new button located immediately on the interface.

Increased device count for multiple simultaneous firmware update.

March 13, 2007 – Crown International announced the release of CDi, DSi, and XTi firmware version 1.1.2.9. The CDi, DSi, and XTi firmware updates to 1.1.2.9 address two main issues. The first issue is a change to the way that the unique USB identification number is sent to Windows; some Windows operating system errors would occur if two units were connected at the same time. The second issue was the addition of support for the CDi 4000 amplifier. Complete information about the updates is included in the read me file with the package. Crown IQwic 8.20 Released

February 14, 2007 – Crown International released IQwic 8.20 today. The main feature in the new release of IQwic is the compatibility with Windows Vista. In addition the main application has been updated to support the latest firmware release (2.0.6.9 for the I-Tech and PIP Modules). IQwic 8.20 will run under Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista. In addition bug fixes were incorporated since the release of 8.10a.

Support for AKG HUB 4000 Q - HiQnet compatible network concentrator for connecting up to eight SR 4000 receivers to a HiQnet network per device.

Master Control Panel - take control of any number of like devices from a single factory-supplied Master Control Panel. Devices may belong to any number of Master Control Panels to enable greater flexibility of control.

Custom Monitoring Panel - with use of a simple wizard, create a Custom Control Panel quickly and easily to monitor input and output meters, online / offline status, clip errors and control output mutes for any number of selected like or unlike devices. Configure the automatically created panel further with the integrated Custom Control Panel designer.

Controls - new buttons added to the palette of controls for Custom Control Panel design.

Software for XTi, CDi, and DSi Amplifiers Now Available

HiQnet™ System Architect™ software with support for Crown CDi, DSi and XTi Series amplifiers has been released and is now available for download from the HiQnet web site. Existing CDi, DSi and XTi amplifiers will need a firmware upgrade before they can be controlled with the System Architect software. Crown IQwic 8.10 Released

Crown International has released the latest update for their IQWic software. This software can be downloaded from the Crown Support Forums (http://www.crownaudio.com/forums/). The updates from IQwic 8.01 to 8.10 are: * Support for CTs 4200USP/CN and CTs 8200USP/CN. * TCP/IQ Utility - total number of devices now displayed in status bar. * TCP/IQ Utility -- Ctrl-A can now be used to select all items. * Support for latest PIP and ITech firmware releases. Bugs Fixes in 8.10 * Attempt to send error messages out the serial port resulted in a 'Class not Registered' error message. * TCP/IQ Utility - items would sometimes jump around when sorted by certain columns.

Crown Firmware 2.01 Released

Crown International has released the latest update for their networked products. This firmware can be downloaded from the Crown Support Forums (http://www.crownaudio.com/forums/). Crown has also changed the format of the distribution, now all of the firmware, including the CobraNet firmware, is contained in one zip file. The Harman Pro Group has just released version 1.0 of HiQnet System Architect™, the central configuration and control application for all HiQnet™ products from the Harman Pro group. For the first time in pro audio history, all devices in the signal path from microphone to speaker share the same advanced communications protocol, form a single intelligent network and can be addressed from within the same software application.

To coincide with this historic launch, the Harman Pro Group is running a free-of-charge HiQnet System Architect training course each morning from 8 - 10 October at the 119th AES Convention in New York. The private course will be held in room 3D10 on the show floor in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Each class will last from 10am - midday and include refreshment. Numbers will be limited for these closed courses and we invite you to register in advance online to secure a place. The course will include:

Crown Releases HiQnet™ Firmware and IQwic v8.0

ELKHART, IN – August 30, 2005 -- Corresponding with the new Harman System Architect software, Crown® today announced the release of new version 2.0 firmware for their HiQnet-compatible products, a plug-in module for System Architect, and a new version of their own IQwic software. The HiQnet-compatible products included in this new firmware release include the I-Tech amplifier series, and IQ-PIP-LITE, IQ-PIP-USP3, and IQ-PIP-USP3/CN amplifier modules. These modules install into Crown CTs Series and Macro-Tech® 02 series amplifiers and are compatible with either HiQnet or TCP/IQ systems. Enhanced HiQnet support in the version 2.0 firmware adds new functionality to support Harman Pro System Architect.
