ELKHART, IN – August 30, 2005 -- Corresponding with the new Harman System Architect software, Crown® today announced the release of new version 2.0 firmware for their HiQnet-compatible products, a plug-in module for System Architect, and a new version of their own IQwic software. The HiQnet-compatible products included in this new firmware release include the I-Tech amplifier series, and IQ-PIP-LITE, IQ-PIP-USP3, and IQ-PIP-USP3/CN amplifier modules. These modules install into Crown CTs Series and Macro-Tech® 02 series amplifiers and are compatible with either HiQnet or TCP/IQ systems. Enhanced HiQnet support in the version 2.0 firmware adds new functionality to support Harman Pro System Architect.
The Crown System Architect plug-in includes a more intuitive interface for filters. The 64 available filters are now assigned into logical blocks for Input System EQ, Input User EQ, Noise Generator, and Loudspeaker Processing. This and other enhancements to the filter arrangement make it easy to take care of input processing and speaker processing separately.
IQwic v8.0 software includes support for the new version 2.0 firmware products using the long-established TCP/IQ protocol. These products may be operated with both IQwic and System Architect simultaneously, providing a smooth upgrade path and transition to System Architect.
HiQnet by the Harman Pro Group is the world’s first connectivity and control protocol to integrate all product categories in the signal chain for professional sound systems of all types, sizes and applications. HiQnet data command and control can utilize any major networking modality, individually or collectively, including serial, Ethernet and USB connections, and HiQnet capability is being engineered into many new products from all the Harman Pro Group brands. The System Architect software offers a consistent, unified and intuitive interface across each Harman Pro brand’s product.
