Why can't I get my PC to communicate with the interface?
If you are having difficulty establishing communication between your PC an the IQ System interface, check the following parameters in order: Close any other software applications that may be running. If using a notebook PC, make sure the IR port is disabled. Make sure no other devices (modems, mouse or other control devices) are attempting to use the COM port. Check to see that the COM port your are using has no conflicts with other devices. Once you have verified all the above, try to communicate with the interface. Check to see if the IQ software is giving a message that CTS is high or low. If so, remove Pin #4 from the male end or your RS232 cable. After this step, if you are unable to establish communications, check all the above again. If you still are unsuccessful, contact the Crown Technical Support Group
