Roll call is the method by which IQ for Windows populates the dataframe by actually querying a connected IQ System to determine which components are present and retrieves their parameters. You are given an opportunity to perform a roll call every time you create a new dataframe. Performing a roll call activates a dialog that allows you to monitor the component discovery process. From the File Menu Select New, this function is duplicated on the toolbar.
