Why are there IQ and TCP/IP addresses? |

There are TCP/IP and IQ addresses as a way of making it simpler to identify a device. Each device can actually have two IP addresses; one for the CobraNet stack and one for the IQ stack. (A stack is a portion of the communications protocol.) In that case, one could easily get confused by not knowing which is which. By having an address it allows it be be referenced much more easily in the software. In addition it assists with the backwards compatiablility.
