How do I wire a PZM-10LL to my mixer mic input?

I have a PZM-10LL mic and can't seem to figure out how to connect it to my mixer XLR mic input .
Here is how I connected the PZM-10LL wires:

White to XLR pin 2.
Black to XLR pin 3.
Shield to XLR pin 1 and Crown PS-24 power supply –.
Red to Crown PS-24 power supply +.

The mic powers up but has a very distorted sound.

Reply:
Tim, you wired the PZM-10LL microphone correctly. It has a line-level output (typically over 1 volt) rather than a mic-level output (typically 2 millivolts), so it is overdriving your mixer mic input and causing distortion. Being a security/surveillance mic, the PZM-10LL normally plugs into the aux or line input of a VCR.

If your mixer line input is a balanced TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) stereo phone jack, solder the wires like this:
White to phone-plug tip.
Black to ring.
Shield to sleeve (ground ) and Crown PS-24 power supply –.

Red to Crown PS-24 power supply +.

If your mixer line input is an unbalanced TS (tip-sleeve) mono phone jack, solder the wires like this:
White to phone-plug tip.
Black to sleeve (ground).
Shield to sleeve and Crown PS-24 power supply –.

Red to Crown PS-24 power supply +.

If you are wiring the PZM-10LL to a mono phone plug , another option is to not solder the black audio lead to the plug - just tape over the end of it. This will result in 6 dB lower level and might work better for your application.
