If your PS8810 is a cobranet model then you can only communicate using the network connector. If it's a PS8810 non-CobraNet then the RS232 should work with IQ for Windows not IQwic. If it's a non corbranet model try using a new RS232 cable and use the latest IQ for Windows software. If that doesn't work then it may be the UART chip on the system control board has failed.

I want to control the PS8810C through RS232 by AMX, is it possible to downgrade a PS8810C to the PS8810?

Yes, it is possible. It is a two step process. The easiest way to accomplish this task is to contact David Glass at Crown and he can walk you through the process.
There is also a UDP developer's kit available to allow AMX to control the TCP/IQ version via a standard network.
