I had a definite short of the output of one channel when the plug was pulled out of one speaker terminal and rested on the other. this ocured when I was out of the room for a couple of hours and the amplifier was on.
the channel where the short ocured has no output, but oedp light is on (red) and the second channel is working fine.
Is there a recovery procedure for thi or does this condition definitely require a visit to the technician's shop? What is the likely damage to the amp? burnt transistors?

It's likely it will need service. This amp does have output short protection, but with limitations. One of the limitations being that it won't do it for hours on end. It's probably the transistors.

So the fact of the channel being out pretty much indicates that the transistors are likely shot?

That would be my guess.
