I have been running IQ for Windows ver 5.12 successfully on my laptop for about six months. I had to reformat the hard drive and reload Win98 & IQ for Windows today. Now when IQ for Windows tries to start up I get an error message asking for a DLL file. I checked and the DLL file is in my c:/windows/system directory. I downloaded the latest version of IQ for Windows from this forum (it still appears to be ver 5.12) and I got the same error message when trying to start the program.
Error Starting Program. The IQ.EXE file is linked to missing export OLEAUT32.DLL:VarNot.
C:\Program Files\IQ Systems\IQ for Windows\Iq.exe A device attached to the system is not functioning.
Any suggestions?

You will also need to run the Windows Updates as they install a newer version.

Thanks Brad. That appears to have done the trick. It is strange that I got it going the first time without using Windows update but it is working fine now.

Glad to help. Sometimes the installer disc has the patches on it, other times it doesn't. Or it could just be the mystery of Windows.
