My D 150-A has developed quite a turn-on thump.  What could be the cause and how can it be corrected?

If it's both channels making the thump it is more than likely one side of the  +/- 10v power supply that is charging/discharging faster than the other.
If it is one side or the other that is thumping than it is more than likely an output device or even a driver transistor getting ready to go bad.
In either case it should go to a qualified service technician to be looked at to properly diagnose the exact component failure.
