I've been using my XTi 2000 bridged into a 4ohm bass cab for a few months now. I usually have the level up about halfway, and tend to use it in 2-3 hour blocks (3-5 times a week). Since this weekend, I have been losing some volume and been getting some very nasty, unpleasant distortion. The problem is very inconsistent, and it can go for an hour without any hiccups and then I'll notice that it's doing it again.
My setup consists of: Bass> pedal board> BBE BMax preamp> XTi> Schroeder 1210R (4ohm 12"+10"+tweeter 850 watt bass cab).
Could the XTi possibly be causing this? I'm trying to narrow it down.
XTi 2000 distorting?

Id recommend to take individual pieces out. Try the rig with a new cab, then with another preamp, ect. As the problem is inconsistant that could be difficult...

I experienced this same problem with 2 XTI 4000's right out of the box. I exchanged for 2 new units and all is fine. I assume you are having the same issue and it is probably tha amplifier causing it.
