LOADMONITOR AMPLIFIER ROM CHIP

6 posts in this topic

I have found another problem with the loadmonitor.

When I sending a pinknoise signal to the amplifier without a loudspeaker or load connected to the output the loadmonitor should count up to 250Ohms after a few minutes, right?

I have some amplifiers they count only up to something between 20 to 80 ohms.

The outputs are not shorted, the USP2 ribbon cable is connected fine.

The missreading still appear if I exchange the amplifier PIP with another one.

Could this also be a problem of VZ5002 ROM chip programming?

Thanks Bob

I have had load monitor readings at 232 Ohm from amplifiers with a functioning single 8 ohm speakers on them. Is there a setting to bring the load monitor readings back into line?

Doug-

Can you provide more information such as What software version, what hardware both for the amplifier and the PIP Card, and what firmware version of the PIP Card.

Until we have that information we are only guessing at a solution.

Brad,

I am running IQ Software Version 5.1.2.0

I have CTS 600 amps and Macrotech 3600 and 5002s with IQ Pip USP2 cards V 1.01. The Macro amplifiers also have the Pip adapter cards.

I also have some 4200 Amplifiers with Pips running Firmware version 1.08

Thanks

Another thing to remember is that the MA3600vz is a PIP1 amplifier and even if it has the IQ PIP USP-2 Adapter Kit installed it doesn't have the Physical connections inside the amplifier to do Load Monitoring that the PIP 2 amplifiers do. Also if using the adapter you should be using IQ for Windows ver. 5.12.

In this case as Brad mentioned it does sound like the CTS amplifiers need the 1.010 firmware. The firmware comes as a chip that needs to replace the one the USP-2 board. The chips can be ordered from our parts department here at Crown.
