  1. Thanks for the input! I'll try the filter, I was wondering if there was a way to limit the frequencies that the amp was distributing so that it wasn't wasting power trying to produce frequencies the speaker couldn't produce anyway. About the x-over- The Drive Rack PA is already crossing-over the input to amp at 100. I was just wondering if I should set the amp x-over as well, or if that might cause (phasing?) problems? I knew I was out of headroom, that must be what is tripping the amp, maybe the surge/spikes? So if I get this right, basically I need more power for the sub's plus setting up the amp filter?
  2. I am running a XTI 4000 driving 4 JBL MPro 18's (2 per side). The problem I'm having is that the amp seems to go into a protection mode. It's being feed by a Driverack PA which is doing the x-over. We are pushing the system but not on the level that the amp should shutdown. Am I underpowering the subs causing the amp to thermal? Also, should I be running the x-over on the amp as well?
  3. Open the cabinet, calculate the ohms based on the speakers. With 8 speakers you'll probably have to do a series wiring job. Connect the leads to speakon connector in the back. Make sure that you aren't lower than 4 ohms. Either wire the speakon cable for Bridge mono or take one end off and use the binding terminals. The whole job is about 25 minutes. A much more simple solution would be to use the DSP. You can Y the input so both channels get the same input. You won't get anymore power out of the amp running mono bridge. For my XTI 4000, I run (2) 4 ohm subs on each channel. Each side gets 1600w. If I bridged it I'd get one output at 3200w.
  4. I am running a XTI 4000 driving 4 JBL MPro 18's (2 per side). The problem I'm having is that the amp seems to go into a protection mode. It stays on but stops outputting sound and has to be turned off and then on again to start running. Its being feed by a Driverack PA which is doing the crossover. We are pushing the system but not on the level that the amp should shutdown. Can anyone help?
  5. I just bought the XTi 2000 and want to access the DSP with System Architech. I installed the software but it doesn't have any XTi models listed. What do I need to do to access the amp's DSP?
