About kihembe215

  1. Hi all, I recently bought a Crown Ma9000i for my subs B stalk on ebay with full waranty and factory satified by crown. The performance was great for two gigs but it took a dump on me on the 3rd show while driving 8ohm loads in stereo. Channel 1 kept working while channel 2 gave some horrible dostortion and gave up the ghost. System architect was showing a clip light on channel 2 even without input signal! Thankfully, crown repaired and shipped the amp at no extra cost. The repair notes show that there was a shorted diode D1027, which provides reference voltage for channel 2 Fets, and that this took out several other parts. After the repair and during testing, channel 1 also failed in the same manner and the same repairs had to be done! I have received the amp and all seems to be well but am worried about this happening again. I have not received a satisfactory explanation as to why this happended after calling Crown service department and was wondering if anybody has had such issues or any idea on how i can avoid such failures in the future. I really love this amp. Conrad
